Neighbrs are loud/obnoxious/smoke MJ/cat & dog poop in yard/kids are unrully etc, how to stoop it
I've complained to owner who lives on site & she doesnt wanna get involved
& when she has sd something she is put my name in it so problem tenants
are resentful of me & do things to deliberately piss me off: they wont
admit nor clean dog/cat poop in our yard, block my access to garage (we
share) & storage cabinets, smoke outside my door/windows bcuz we have
allergies/asthma, even after l ask nicely they just find another way to
get at me. Now they smoke in garage they share with us + smoke MJ & the smells get in our car/interior Their pets are flea ridden & 1 had parvo, luckily my puppy had his shots, a few of our personal things in the garage have come up MISSING, we've come home late to find garage open with their chairs & beer bttles etc on our side of the garage & we have to park on the street, their outside cat w/fleas has gotten into our car to sleep at night bcuz they leave the garage dr cracked for him, they lve his fd/water outside now there are couple other strays hanging around & cat uses flowerbed as cat-litter box! I've spent sooo much money on things to get rid of fleas in the yard & hse + flea baths for my puppy cuz he gets fleas when their puppy gets out the house & runs into our area, they wont keep her on a leash even though I've let them know where to get a cheap one! And they leave their cigarette butts EVERYWHERE, hang their clthes anywhere outside making the property look run down, their kids have thrown toys at windsheild of our leased Lexus, their handles of their scooters have left scratches on the Lexus door, 1 kid took a metal pole & smashed my daughters mission project(l had the mom pay for it), l caught them sliding down the bk window of my honda (prkd outside) & saw them yank 1 of the weakened fence bars til it broke...so even though I've talked to them diplomatically about this stuff, they dont admit to ANYTHING & again, the owner doesnt do anything!She does know about the majority of it but still, nothing.Police wont do anything either but tell them to keep it down & if l mention MJ to police, l know these pple will retaliate against us & our property. have 8 mths left on my rent & cant leave bcuz I'd be breaking my rental agreement. Should l fight back or just wait to move? l dont really want a 'tit for tat' but talking hasnt worked & if l keep complaining/sending letters to the owner, she is the type to get irritated & find ways to point out any little thing we possibly do (ie: they prk anywhere blocking exit/entering, l prk 1 time in FRONT of the garage w/space in between & she left a note on my car saying l nd to obey the rules too especially since l was the one who complained, if we accidently lft our trash bin out front, she txts me to tell me to move it to the back, when l start up my car in am she says fumes go upstairs into her apt, so pull car out immediately upon starting engine...all of which l complied etc).And if thats not enough, their 20 yr old son ually attacked my daughtr (same age)but bcuz she had drinks he offered her & passed out, PD wont really act on anything!! Can you believe that?l live in southern CA anyone know what l can do? Legally or otherwise? HELP
I would document everything. And send certified letters to the
landlord so you will have proof you sent the complaints & or save texts
with ur complaints. And also get reports from all the times you have call
the PD. Then after a lil while more of living in this situation. And ur
Landlord still does not react & get the issues address & resolved. I would
put in a notice that you are looking for a place to move to, & state out
why. And make sure you leave the property clean. Take pictures. Then when she trys to sue you for the remaining of the lease, you will then have the upper hand on the matter with showing the letters, pics, all proof etc.. to the judge on how you were not comfortable or even felt safe living there. And watch then how the tables will turn on the Landlord. This way you protect yourself from the lazy irresponsible Land lord & her tenants. Which even she seems nervous by, for not handle it when addressed to her in the same manner as she has with you.
You can call animal control for the loose animals.
Start documentng everything these people do, & also document ur landlady
is responses (or lack thereof) to ur complaints. Write everything down
with dates & times, & take pictures or video if necessary. If there are
witnesses, ask them to do the same, or at least get names & contact
information. (I bet you are not the only person who can not stand these folks.) Then talk to a lawyer. You may have grounds for breaking ur lease without penalty. With ur documentation, you may be able to get some action from the police. You daughter should consider filing charges against the neighbor boy.
Just stop talking to these people and wait out your lease. They
obviously have no problem antagonizing you so try to leave them alone. If
you retaliate, they will keep causing problems. For fleas, just get your
animals on Frontline or Advantage so they won't bring in fleas. It is
expensive, but if you buy the cheap stuff, you have to buy things like
shampoo, spray, etc and it will add up. They make repellents for dogs, but
it would also repel *your* dog.
The sexual assault is a criminal matter. As far as the living
situation, I'd move. Talk to the landlord about breaking the lease. If
there is renter is court or arbitration/mediation in your area go there
for advice.
This is a police matter.
Personally I would just move.
I know it is frustrating. The best solution is to move out, if
police can not even do anything about it. For the sake of your health and
your emotional well-being. No kidding. Rather live happier and healthier
than to put up with this neighbor.
